Waterloo by Collings WL-14X Longhorn 2010's (no250602) "Waterloo" by Collings. In 2014, Bill Collings personally brought a sample to the NAMM show, and since its release, it has been very popular due to its high level of perfection. In honor of Gibson naming its second brand after the town of Kalamazoo, Bill Collings named the brand "Waterloo", Austin's old name. This instrument is a "WL-14X Longhorn" that was created as a Japan-only model at the suggestion of Bill, and unfortunately became Bill's memorial model. Spruce top, mahogany sides and back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, ebony straight bridge, Golden Age Restoration tuners, acrylic fingerboard dots, tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, ivoroid 1-ply rosette and binding, "bootburst" semi-gloss finish. When making the Japan-only model, they made various mockups and consulted with us, but they chose buffalo horn for the nut, taking care not to spoil the character of the Waterloo, which was already highly complete. It is finished in a pale, deep, and sophisticated color called "boot burst". The head also has a "long horn" stencil, which is a symbol of Texas. There is a photo of Bill on the inside label, which was suggested to Bill by the domestic distributor, Taurus Corporation, before he died. (Bill laughed and said it was funny! ) Tight sound response. The bold and firm sound is inherited from Collings. It is a nice guitar with a somewhat nostalgic sound. There is a slightly noticeable dent on the neck heel, but overall it is in good condition with little signs of use. Waterloo is currently in low circulation. This is a rare model with limited specifications that was produced in small quantities.
