Hasegawa sword
Takaba received certification for sword making in 1969, and established his position as a modern swordsmith by submitting works to the 1st New Famous Sword Exhibition and winning consecutive prizes. In 1976, he received an Encouragement Award for copying Shizu Saburo Kaneuji's representative work, a cutting blade designation that is designated as an Important Cultural Property.
