Description
Impressive antique late 19th century French silvered gilt bronze wax seal, desk stamp. Depicting the mythological Greek figures of Hercules wrestling the Nemean lion. The handle is casted with superb visual depth and detail. The matrix with monogram of interlaced initials AL or LA. Measures 3 5/8" height x 7/8" wide, the matrix measures 3/4" diameter. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. There is some a subtle indention to the side edge of the matrix visible at the 1'o'clock position in the 5th image.
