Also note the pens open at the center by twisting both halves in opposite directions and pulling apart slightly as you twist.  The pens do not totally tighten as you twist them closed due to the safety feature so you don't snap the plastic by tightening too tightly.  See ** below.

This vintage Arpege Chanel No. 5 pen set is a true gem for collectors and writing enthusiasts alike. The set includes two ballpoint pens, both crafted with exquisite 14k gold filigree detailing on the lower barrel.  The pens are 5 inches long and come in their original black 6" vinyl box and incudes its original refill order form.  The pens are in excellent mechanical working condition but DO NOT WRITE. *  The fragrance is no longer apparent.  The refills look like a standard 4" pen refills.  The order form you'll find under the molded case, although I don't believe it's still a valid order form for replacements.  The black vinyl case comes in its own white cardboard slip case which has writing and wear on both sides. The satin lined black vinyl case itself is in perfect condition, and it features the Logo inside the case in the satin upper portion.

**The pens no longer have ink due to their age, although they come apart and look to be similar size as traditional ball point pens.  ***See photo of actual refill and a photo of a possible replacement that is available online for a traditional ball point pen.
