The Daily Bugle sends Peter Parker to Los Angeles to photograph the breakup of the Champions. Unfortunately, Peter arrives at the Champions' building too late, but he does get there in time to visit with the Angel and inquire about the rest of team. With his suspicions aroused by the Angel's vague answers, the wall-crawler returns to the building after hours just in time...to battle Rampage! Is the Angel going to team-up with Spider-Man? Or does the winged mutant have something else in mind? Flashback cameos by the Black Widow, Darkstar, Ghost Rider, and Hercules to recap the events of Champions 17. (Note: This two-part story basically served as an epilogue to the Champions series.)
