This set was distributed to help kids get familiar with the Pokémon TCG game, and give general information on how to play it. Attached are usually also the damage counter coins used during the game, and sometimes a mini playmat. In Japan these are known as “Taiken Setto” (“Tryout Set”), whereas in the western world these cards are usually refereed to as Teach Sets.

This particular card features a printer hickey on the back of the card above the pokeball. There are only 3 graded examples of this card and there are none known to have a printing error hickey on the card. This makes this card very unique and probably 1 of 1. This card also claims the highest grade of a 6 with the others grading as 4 and 1. These cards are hard to grade because they are distributed with the intention of kids tearing them out of the 学習幼稚園 (Learning Kindergarten) magazine in 1999.

Grab this very unique card that is a great conversation piece as well as a unique part of Pokemon history!
