I recently acquired a collection of vintage photographs of airplanes. I will be auctioning all of them off on eBay. See my other items. Free shipping on all additional items won.
Original vintage color photo of the rare Ryan XV-5 “Vertifan”, an experimental vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) jet developed for the U.S. Army in the 1960s. This stunning image captures the aircraft mid-hover, with all three fan ducts visible and landing gear deployed—an extraordinary view of this short-lived but influential prototype.
The XV-5 Vertifan was designed to test the viability of VTOL flight using jet-driven lift fans and was part of the U.S. military’s exploration into advanced vertical lift aircraft. Only two prototypes were built, making imagery of this aircraft incredibly rare and desirable among aviation history collectors.
