📋 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AK Interactive Bronze Effect Paint (AK11267) is a specially formulated acrylic paint designed as the essential base coat for creating authentic verdigris effects on your models and miniatures. This unique 35ml bronze-colored paint has been specifically engineered to react with the AK Oxidizing Agent (AK11268) to produce realistic oxidation effects.
Unlike standard metallic paints, this special formula contains reactive components that, when exposed to the catalyst agent, create a genuine chemical reaction that mimics the natural oxidation process of real bronze and copper. The result is an incredibly realistic verdigris effect that adds age, character, and authenticity to your models.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: This product is designed to be used in combination with the Oxidizing Agent (AK11268) to achieve the verdigris effect. For the complete effect system, consider purchasing the full Verdigris Effect Kit (AK11265).
🔍 HOW IT WORKS
This special bronze paint is the first step in a two-part chemical process that creates authentic verdigris effects:
- Apply this Bronze Effect Paint to your model where you want the aged metal effect to appear
- Allow to dry completely (approximately 1-2 hours for best results)
- Apply the Oxidizing Agent (AK11268) over the bronze paint
- Watch as the chemical reaction occurs, creating a realistic bluish-green patina effect
The magic happens when the two products interact!

💡 PRO TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
- Surface Preparation: For maximum adhesion on plastic or resin, prime the surface first with an acrylic primer
- Brush Quality: Use a good quality synthetic brush for smooth application
- Thin Layers: Apply in thin, even coats rather than one thick layer for best results
- Complete Drying: Ensure the bronze paint is fully dry before applying the oxidizing agent
- Selective Application: For more realistic effects, consider leaving some areas unoxidized by not applying the oxidizing agent everywhere
💡 Expert Tip: This paint can also be used on its own as a beautiful metallic bronze finish if you prefer not to create the oxidation effect.
❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can I use this paint without the oxidizing agent?
A: Yes, it can be used as a standard metallic bronze paint. However, to achieve the special verdigris effect, you need to use it with the Oxidizing Agent (AK11268).
Q: Will it work with other oxidizing products on the market?
A: For optimal results, we recommend using it with the AK Interactive Oxidizing Agent (AK11268) as they're specifically formulated to work together.
Q: How many models can I paint with one bottle?
A: The 35ml bottle provides excellent coverage and is typically enough for numerous small to medium projects, depending on the size of the areas being painted.
Q: Can I mix this with other acrylic paints?
A: We don't recommend mixing it with other paints if you plan to use the oxidizing agent later, as this may affect the chemical reaction. For a pure metallic finish without the oxidation effect, limited mixing may be possible.
