For sale is this Seiko Credor (6030-5130) made in Japan, in March of 1980.
As Grand Seiko has become its own independent brand, Credor is the top tier of Seiko. The Credor line was created by Seiko in 1974 and originally made from the word CRÊTE D'OR which means "Golden Pinnacle" in French. Here we have a fine Credor piece which was made just 6 years after the inception of the Credor line.
When this watch was released it was ¥115,000 which is over $1100 adjusted for inflation!
The watch, reference number KFS021, has a very unique and identifiable octagonal design directly related to the Gerald Genta designed Seiko Credor Locomotive released just one year before in 1979 and which has just got re-released by Credor last year.
The design is crazy thin at just 5.1mm thick. Sapphire scratch-resistant glass. Capped seconds hand as a sign of high-end attention to detail. The Suwa swirl logo indicates that this watch was designed and made by the Suwa Factory during its fierce rivalry with the Daini Factory.
Seiko used onyx stone for the cabochon on the crown but also on the four tips of the lugs.
The star of the show is the one-of-a-kind tropical patina dial which appears to look like moss hanging down from the edges over the pin-striped blue dial while all the print even at the bottom is all completely intact.
This watch also comes with the original box and papers which are still in very good condition for the age with the original copy of the owner's guarantee, where they bought it and when.
Comes on a multi-link high-quality stainless steel adjustable JDM "Bambi" branded bracelet.
Condition is good for it's age, general wear, no scratches on crystal. Lugs appear to be a tiny bit bent, unsure if this is an easy fix or not.
Offers welcome.
Dimensions are:
32mm x 38mm x 5.1mm
Lug Width 17mm
Bought in Japan.
*Returns accepted but return postage costs are the buyer's responsibility and in exactly the same condition as when it was sold.
