This is a heavy duty, near solid metal, vintage, sewing machine from Singer. It is model number 4528 from the Merritt series. There are so many wonderful features about this machine. It has several built-in stitches and easily changes from straight stitch to zigzag with the slide of the dial. It is set up for two needle sewing if you want to sew with two different colors. It has a built-in metal bobbin, winder, and a carrying handle. The machine is very easy to thread and operate.

It comes with the foot pedal and electrical cord, as well as a cover plate for the feed dogs to allow you to do freeform quilting and sewing, as well as a tape measure,seam ripper, extra bobbin, extra needle, and a thimble.

This machine is heavy duty and will easily handle denim, canvas, and leather, using a leather needle. When they say “they don’t make them like they used to“ they are talking about machines like this.
