Pole auger drill bits are extra-long auger bits that drill deep holes through timber, pressure-treated lumber, and hollow fiberglass or composite utility poles. They are also known as timber auger drill bits. The bits have a single cutting spur that scribes the edge of the hole to produce clean holes with a smooth finish, and they have open spiral flutes that provide efficient chip removal. Each bit has a self-feeding tip that pulls the bit into the workpiece and helps prevent it from moving, or walking, during drilling.
