There are 5 small matching natural round tanzanites bezel set down the front of these huggie style hoop earrings. The gemstones have a light purple color with nice sparkle. These hoops measure 2.25mm thick, just under 1/2" from top to bottom (12mm) and 1/2" from front to back. Small!! They have a hinge on the bottom and the posts click closed securely into the back of the setting. They are solid yellow gold and are stamped 10K on the inside of the hoop. This is a great pair of earrings for just about any age. I purchased a sapphire pair for my 4 year old and another pair for myself. I wear them in my first hole but they would even be a good size for a second piercing. I will say that the hinge doesn't open very wide. But I personally had no trouble putting them on.
