THIS ISLAND EARTH (1955)

Rex Reason plays Dr Cal Meacham, a scientist studying the industrial application of nuclear energy, in this Fifties sci-fi drama in which aliens from another planet visit Earth seeking technological expertise to help them win a war. In the rôle of Exeter, the alien from Metaluna, Jeff Morrow sports a high indented forehead, neatly coiffured white hair, bushy eyebrows and a coppertone tan but is dressed in a conventional Earthman suit and tie. Faith Domergue has a leading part in this film -- based on a Raymond F. Jones story -- playing Meacham's fellow scientist, Dr Ruth Adams. Lance Fuller, Russell Johnson, Douglas Spencer, Robert Nichols and Karl Ludwig Lindt complete the supporting cast. The British Board of Film censors made cuts to the film to secure its U rating on its UK cinema release in 1955 but these out-takes were restored in 1987, when the film was granted a PG certificate for home video release. "This Island Earth" has been featured (and spoofed) in other movies since its first release but has in general earned favourable reviews and is now a cult favourite among those who follow Bill Warren's advice to "Keep Watching the Skies".

My DVDs and Blu-rays listed on Ebay France are despatched promptly by post from France. Postage fees to addresses within Metropolitan France are included in the list price unless otherwise stated in a listing. Discs are from my personal collection, so there is only one of any title. The insert and disc label illustrations are not stock photos but scans of the items being sold. English-language and English-subtitled DVDs and Blu-rays are added regularly to my listings and can be found on the franc431 seller page. I can’t list all of my DVDs and Blu-rays at once so If there’s a title you’re looking for that you can’t find, or can't buy at the right price because of the high cost of posting from outside France, please message me at Ebay and if I have that disc I will tell you and add it to my listings.
