Overall good condition. Well used, but hinges strong, pages overall very nice. Some staining and age toning, most of it on or near title pages. Illustrations and maps very good. Slight endpaper crack in the back of Vol 2. Hinge still strong. Covers have use wear, which is no surprise because these memoirs were well written, hence read a lot by their owners. Owner signed. Library pockets removed. Some bumping and wear of cover corners. Very desirable memoir from one of the major soldiers in the Union Army.
