R.E.M. fans! This was back in 1987 and they were still (somewhat) a college band. 10,000 Maniacs opened the show. At one point, Natalie Merchant and Michael Stipe performed on stage together. The on-screen visuals were compelling and advanced for the era. Notice the ticket price - only $15.50 :)

NOTES: 

* Natalie Merchant guests on 'Swan Swan H'

* A whole verse of 'Driver 8' is sung solo by Michael before the band kicks in and the song is performed in its entirety.

* Michael is hit in the face with a glowstick during 'Midnight Blue', the band finish the song, & promptly walk off stage.

* 'Talk About The Passion', 'Life And How To Live It' & 'Just A Touch', which were on the written setlist for the 2nd encore were not played.
