VERY GOOD CONDITION: This is the 1877 first edition of Rev. Hermon Griswold Batterson's, "Christmas Carols and Other Verses". It was published by J. B. Lippincott, Philadelphia. The book is inscribed to "Alice E. Heliner with compliments of the Author; 1229 Arch St. Philadelphia", in Ogdensburg Aug 7th, 1880. It is not signed, just inscribed. Inserted into the book is a small 4 page brochure titled, "The Tears of Jesus", by the author. Back has a smudge, else this is clean/bright, with gilt lettering and designs. Book 72 pgs of poems with a Christmas theme, including traditional carols and original hymns. Pages are clean/bright, binding is tight. Measures 7 x 4.75".
