Never before offered as a single-state set. This listing is for three volumes from the 100 volume The Supplement to the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies. This book set contains all three volumes with information on the State of Iowa including reports and Cavalry, Artillery, and Infantry units and information. If you’re looking for the complete set of all the Iowa and or Kansas information without having to purchase the full 100-volume Supplement, this is the set you want. If you’re seeing all Kentucky information, see my listing of the full set of Kentucky Supplement books also listed on my eBay store site. If you want only the Kansas information without Iowa or Kentucky, also see my listing for the Kansas only book, also on my eBay store site. To clarify, this listing isn't for three volumes of the 128 volume Official Records, it's for all three of the Iowa volumes only of the 100 volume The Supplement to the Official Records. The original Official Records of the Civil War consists of 128 volumes which contain official reports, correspondence, courts-martial where they explain battles, and a smattering of troop itineraries scattered in with battle accounts. However, much material was left out of the original edition. Numerous reports were not sent in and Confederates were reluctant to contribute to a work compiled by Yankees entitled “War of the Rebellion.” Thus, the original Official Records were incomplete - however, this situation is being remedied. It's an uncommon collection of "the rest of the story." It's arranged like the Official Records - chronologically with entries by campaigns, etc. It includes reports, correspondence, records of events, the reports listed as "not located," itineraries of units, the reports the Confederates didn't sent in, the reports the Union didn't send in, misplaced or sent in late... It's all here. Less that 3% of this material has been previously published or transcribed! MINT CONDITION This three-volume book set is brand new, unread, and in pristine condition. It comes in the original, publisher's shrink wrap. The books set is handsomely bound in black covers, with bright, sharp, gold spine lettering. The pages are clean, bright-white and in excellent condition. There isn't a mark in the books. The exteriors are sharp, bright and clean with no wear. The book set is solidly bound throughout. This is the Iowa volumes (with some Kentucky Cavalry) only of 100-volume set. Don't let this uncommon book set get away - get all records related to Iowa and its units missing in the original Official Records.
