60×30mm rectangle wargaming bases with two parallel slots, made from injection-moulded ABS plastic. A cavalry and chariot footprint for mass-battle systems — the parallel slots run along the length of the base, letting tab-fitted mounted models clip straight in. Black, ready to prime and texture.

🔧 Material & Build

Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS does not warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top surface grips PVA, texture paste, and basing sand without needing to score or rough up the surface first. Takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the full production chain from design through to quality control. Mould lines are clean and consistent.

The two parallel slots run along the 60mm length of the base, oriented front-to-back so mounted models face forward in formation. At 3.75mm total height with a 1.12mm floor, this is a slim profile. 2.65mm of underside clearance fits 3×2mm disc magnets — use two placed between the slots and the edges for a balanced hold.

💡 From the Workbench

PREP

Wash before priming — a quick rinse in warm soapy water removes mould release residue. Dry completely before spraying.

USING THE SLOTS

The two parallel slots are oriented front-to-back so mounted models face forward in formation. Tab-fitted cavalry clips straight in — apply a drop of superglue to the tab before seating for a permanent bond. For models with a single wide tab, use one slot and fill the other with texture material.

DON'T NEED THE SLOTS?

Fill them with milliput, greenstuff, or a strip of plasticard glued flush. Plasticard sits flat in parallel slots with minimal cleanup — cut to width, CA gel in place, sand smooth once cured. Prime over and the surface is seamless.

MAGNETS

2.65mm underside clearance fits 3×2mm disc magnets. Place them between the slots and the base edges to avoid the slot channels. Two magnets towards each end gives a balanced hold for transport. CA gel, check polarity before it sets.

RANKING UP

Keep texture and scenic material off the bevel edges — clean edges mean tight formation ranks with no gaps. A uniform rim colour across the regiment ties the unit together visually on the table.
