You are buying an old Spanish model M-76 brown dominant amoeba "rocoso" (rocky) camouflage shirt used exclusively by the a few flags (battalions) of the Spanish legion, formerly known as Foreign Legion or "Tercio de Extranjeros".

This camouflage was inspired by the Leibermuster used by the Germans during the end of World War II, that an approach was also adopted by other nations after the war (such as Switzerland) and is characterized by amoeba-like maroon and draj green shapes mixed on a beige background and disrupted with horizontal tan "flecks". There is a other early variant of this camo and this one appears to be the second iteration, with some minor changes.

The shirt consists of a heavy twill cotton style fabric and is very well made. These are from a bygone era, with so many features and a high complexity, something that was surely time-consuming to manufacture and won't likely find today in the era of disposable synthetic uniforms and automated manufacturing. Its time frame is between the late 1970s to early 1990s.

The shirt is packed with pockets and features: on the front are the two horizontally chest pouches with flap closed by button and velcro on the right, and only velcro on the left. And the shirt opening and cuffs are button fastened. The collar is open "Saturday Night Fever" style typical of all the clothing of this military unit. The epaulettes have the full color embroidered emblem of the spanish legion logo (halberd, arquebus and crossbow crossed and on these weapons a royal crown).

The shirt is in overall good used condition, flawless. No stains, no tears, no rips. All buttons present but some have been replaced. The colours are still strong and vivid. Size is European medium (US small). The manufacturer's marking or stamp from Benoliel brand is no longer visible. The dimensions are as follows:

  • chest (pit to pit) - approx. 54 cm (21.25" in.)
  • shoulder - approx. 44 cm (17.32" in.)
  • arm (pit to cuff) - approx. 52 cm (20.47" in.)
  • arm (shoulder to cuff) - approx. 56 cm (22.04" in.)
  • back (collar to hem) - approx. 72 cm (28.34" in.)
  • weight - 615 gr (1.3 lb.)
