Direct LED upgrade for the 581 (PY21W) halogen amber indicator bulbs on the VW Transporter T5 2003-2011 listed in the compatibility table above. Same offset bayonet fit (BAU15s), 12V, plug and play — no cutting, wiring or coding needed. Built-in CAN-bus load resistors mean no dashboard warning on the vast majority of vehicles; a small number of especially sensitive vehicles may still need an additional resistor.

CANbus and Dashboard Warnings

These bulbs have built-in resistors and fit without an error on the large majority of vehicles. Some cars watch their bulbs more closely than others. On those you may still see a bulb warning on the dash, or the light may flicker or switch itself off. Audi, BMW, Mercedes, newer VW group and newer Vauxhall models are the most likely. If that happens it is your car's monitoring system talking, not a fault with the bulbs, and a load resistor or a quick coding change clears it.
