HOT TUNA – JORMA KAUKONEN & JACK CASADY

A LIVING LEGEND IN AMERICAN MUSIC

TICKET #1:
Hot Tuna & Go Ahead
Capitol Theatre, Passaic NJ
Friday, October 31, 1986

NOTES:
This was Halloween on a Friday night, so it was a lot of freaky fun! Great show.
The Capitol Theatre was demolished about 5 years later.
This was one Go Ahead's 6th formal gig.

In July 1986 Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia fell into a diabetic coma. He awoke five days later but took months to recover. During this time drummer Bill Kreutzmann and keyboardist Brent Mydland formed the band Go AheadGo Ahead played a number of gigs in December 1986; soon afterwards, the Grateful Dead resumed performing.

TICKET #2:
Acoustic Hot Tuna
Opening act = Solar Circus
Stone Pony, Asbury Park NJ
March 10, 1990

NOTES:
Very small club, intimate performance venue and also famous from the likes of Bruce Springsteen.
I recall enjoying the opening band (Solar Circus) about 10 feet from the stage, and then realizing that the man standing in front of me in the audience was none other than Jorma Kaukonan!
