Poppy Grace Mate originated in Japan in the 1970s. At that time, the country experiences rapid economic growth, causing the percentage of car owners to increase swiftly. It inspires the company DIA Chemical to develop the first liquid air freshener for cars under the name 'Gracemate Poppy'. After years of refining the design, the product found its way to the market in 1987 and became an immediate success. 'Gracemate Poppy' remained the market leader for many years. Thanks to a successful TV commercial with a well-known Japanese comedian, the product gained even more fame in Southeast Asia. Later, it’s popularity spread to Europe, where especially truckers gave it a permanent place in their interior.
