🔧 Material & Build

Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS does not warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top surface grips PVA, texture paste, and basing sand without needing to score or rough up the surface first. Takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the full production chain from design through to quality control. Mould lines are clean and consistent.

The 60×30mm rectangle sits at a compact 3.6mm total height. The 1.43mm floor gives a solid platform for mounted kits, and 2.2mm of underside clearance fits 3×1mm disc magnets — a tight but clean fit. Use two magnets placed towards each end for a balanced hold in transport.

💡 From the Workbench

PREP

Wash before priming — a quick rinse in warm soapy water removes mould release residue. Dry completely before spraying.

BONDING

Superglue (CA) bonds ABS cleanly for plastic and resin cavalry kits. For heavier metal models, pin with 0.5–0.8mm brass rod through the hooves or contact points and reinforce with two-part epoxy for a permanent hold.

MAGNETS

2.2mm underside clearance is a tight fit — 3×1mm disc magnets sit flush. Use two placed towards each end for a balanced hold. If you need stronger pull, 2×1mm discs stacked two-high also work within the clearance. CA gel, check polarity before it sets.

RANKING UP

Keep texture and scenic material off the bevel edges — clean edges mean tight formation ranks with no gaps. Batch-prime on painter's tape strips for consistency. A uniform rim colour across the regiment ties the unit together visually.
