History
The surroundings of Kosov in the Ivano-Frankivsk region are rich in clay and white siliceous sand, so pottery has been developed here since ancient times. The formation of Hutsul ceramics took place from the 15th century, but the most famous became Kosovan ceramics, which got its name from the place of its creation. In many villages of the Hutsul region, the main craft was pottery, which allowed local craftsmen to quickly develop and acquire their special, unique style. This style developed, forming new types of manufacturing and painting techniques.

After the Soviet authorities destroyed private craftsmen, the "Hutsul art" union, created in 1922, found its continuation in the artil named after T. G. Shevchenko. Later, the "Hutsulshchyna" factory and art workshops of the Art Fund of the Ukrainian SSR were also formed.
 
Unfortunately, the master of this vase could not be installed, so it is sold as unknown. Please note that you are buying a piece of the history of Ukrainian pottery.
On December 12, 2019, Kosiv painted ceramics was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which confirms the continuity of this tradition and its active development in the modern world.
