Adapter plate intended for replacing the stock 80mm fan and mounting a larger, better, and quieter 92mm fan onto the popular Dell 089R8J heatsinks found throughout the Optiplex line and also in some HP models. This adapter smoothly reduces the larger 92mm fan's airflow to the heatsink's 80mm circle.
Comes with the 4 screws you'll need; really easy use the included M5 screws to mount the 92mm fan and then use the small screws the heatsink comes with to mount the bracket+fan to the heatsink. Finally, tighten down the heatsink to the CPU.
Fits standard 92mm fans.Will almost certainly fit unless you have a really strange fan; if in doubt refer to the technical drawing and measure your fan & fan slot. ASK ME QUESTIONS IF YOU'RE NOT SURE!
YOU WILL NEED 10mm clearance (about 1/3')' above beyond where the 80mm fan sits now. You almost certainly have it in the Dell or HP case, but please check.
This design smoothly enlarges/shrinks between the 80mm and 92mm sizes and has good plenum volume for optimal airflow.
Unlike other adapters, this design completely fills in the frame around the larger fan so everything is still sealed airtight afterwards and your fan works as efficiently as possible providing airflow.
