Jägermeister is launching a new and strictly limited product on the market. What makes it unique is that the essence has been matured in oak barrels for more than 25 years. Only 2,500 hand-numbered bottles of the 0.7-liter design bottles are available worldwide. They are shipped in high-quality wooden packaging. Berlin-based artist Mago Dovjenko, an exceptional talent on the international design scene, is part of the global online campaign and has created an oil painting inspired by the character of the new product. Owners of the edition can look forward to an individual NFT - the virtual image of their work of art.

 

"9556 Nights of Exploration" is a debut in Jägermeister's company history, as the essence of the new product goes back to a unique time experiment by Dr. Günther Findel, son-in-law of Jägermeister inventor Curt Mast. He wanted to find out how the so-called basic ingredient develops if it is kept beyond the usual storage period. 9556 nights later, it turns out that it paid off. Thanks to his spirit of discovery, Jägermeister is able to bottle this rare drop and present a unique and limited edition herbal liqueur.

 

More than 400 oak barrels stand in the barrel warehouse of the herbal liqueur manufacturer Jägermeister in Wolfenbüttel, in the middle of Germany. The raw material matures in them for several months until it becomes the finished Jägermeister. But one barrel is very special because it was sealed over 25 years ago and has been stored longer than any barrel before it. Jägermeister has now opened this barrel and produced a limited edition from the exclusive essence: Only 2500 hand-numbered copies will be available worldwide from November 2023.

A special design and packaging have been developed for this high-quality product: Unlike the original, Jägermeister has deliberately dispensed with a front label for "9556 Nights of Exploration". The 0.7-liter white glass bottle allows the elegant color nuances of the liquid to shimmer through, while the print on the back is in typical Jägermeister orange. The handwritten serial number makes each bottle truly unique. But the bottle has even more to offer: The inward-facing message about the history of the creation of the limited edition only appears as soon as the liquid inside becomes less. Each of the 2,500 design bottles available worldwide is packaged in a high-quality wooden box to prevent breakage.

 

Aromas and taste

At 40% alcohol by volume, this strictly limited edition herbal liqueur has a slightly higher alcohol content than Jägermeister (35% alcohol by volume). It is based on the original herbal recipe and is characterized by a mild aroma. Due to the long maturing time of the base material, the spicy herbal notes are complemented by sweet fruit accents. Aromas of caramel and vanilla round off the subtle woody barrel-aged notes. "9556 Nights of Exploration" is best enjoyed in a tumbler at room temperature so that the flavor components can develop optimally. But it is also a special taste experience on ice.
