For added 'water resistance' a bead of silicone could be applied to the base before securing down
Made from tough UV resistant ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)

Not being able to source a suitable surface mount for an Anderson Plug to attach to the outside wall of a caravan or camper which would protect the plug from the weather, we decided to design our own..
We knew there were some 3D printed ones in the market but 3D printing material doesn't stand up to the hot sunny conditions when exposed
We have also seen some made from an alloy, which I wouldn't like to touch once it has been in the sun for awhile
We started with our own design taking into account we wanted a product that could be mounted externally and last, is a slim design, and keeps the weather out of the plug we came up with the Anderson Plug Shell
Made from tough UV resistant ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) it can withstand the harsh sunlight and take a knock or two if travelling through the bush
We added two screw or bolt holes to each side so you can make sure the shell is held securely against the surface to help keep water from seeping in. You can add a bead of silicone to the base as well before attaching to further seal it
There is plenty of room at the back of the Anderson Plug for the terminal wires to protrude and bend into the wall cavity
The 50 amp Anderson Plug Shell comes standard with a grey plug but we can change that to red, blue, yellow or green if required.
