Bundle description: Offered is a fully upgraded ‘Plug and Scan’ VLP-16 Lidar, with a new GNSS, all new accessories, access to a full library of documentation and software.  This packaged bundle is ready to scan right out of the box and includes the following:

• Velodyne VLP-16 Puck Lidar: Servicing includes the following, but not limited to (this is a highlighted list): 
• The Firmware has been updated to 3.0.41.1, the latest stable release
• The units configuration and calibration has been updated to match the new firmware version.
• A Brand New, upgraded upper bearing has been installed with a high quality NTN (Japan) bearing. Quiet, smooth, deep groove - ABEC-7 (vs. factory installed ABEC-1).  This is a much needed upgrade and I don't cheap out with a low grade bearing -  these NTNs are the bomb!
• Drum balanced (rebalanced) more precise than the factory tolerances. 
• All lenses and mirrors have been perfectly align tightened, cleaned & treated with an optical coating
• The inner laser and receptor mounts have been inspected and tightened (almost always are a bit lose).
• The inner and outer dome lens (properly named as a 'window') has been cleaned & treated with a Ceramic coating
• Post coils are sealed on the top side to prevent flaking. 
• Driver magnets are cleaned and wire leads are re-soldered (electrolysis can funk with the connection)
• Permanente interior motor magnets are inspected and cleaned of any flakes and/or debris
• Optical IC on bottom circuit board is cleaned and coated
• Full unit inspected (via a methodical checklist)
• Inspection and tightening of all Allen, Torx and set-screws throughout
• O-rings replaced with new (preventative)
• Both ring seals cleaned and re-coated (waterproofing)
• Exterior domes lens (window) has been treated with an additional Ceramic UV/waterproof coating (be careful when handling as they actually are a bit slippery!)
• This bundle includes a brand new factory Velodyne control module with a new ~3 m. cable.  A new upgraded Amphenol cable gland has also been added to the control module. This upgrade tightly secures the cable into the module and prevents that dreaded cable twist. 
• The old, heavy M12 connectors have been replaced with modern, brand new (upgraded) hybrid metal/abs M12s These are a waterproof m/f pair that follows the standard Velodyne wire pinout and colors. These are higher quality (smaller and way lighter) than the original clunky factory connectors! 
• All shrink tubing has been replaced with double walled, marine grade tubing. Marine grade has two layers, is  thicker and has an interior glue lining (adheres when heated) to strengthen and waterproof.  This also helps prevent the cable that goes into the unit, both connectors and the interface box from 'cable twisting' (known issues)!
• This bundle also includes a brand new, Velodyne (model specific configured), u-blox based GNSS (vs old Garmin GPS 18X LVC) with a 3 m. cable. This also comes with the addition of an upgraded flexible 1 mm plug & wire sheathing (original from Garmin comes with unprotected wires) .
• Brand new 3' external 12v power extension cord, extra connectors and plugs
• Brand new 12v. 4 a. (upgraded from 3 a.) control module power transformer
• Brand new 6' waterproof, thin ethernet cable (super durable and thin is easier to route)
• A set of new 1/4-20 fastening bolts.
