Swingarm Boot Guard for KTM 1290 SuperDuke GT 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020
3m Boot Guard kits are available for a large range of bike styles and brands, with new applications released regularly. The unique R&G texture was specifically designed to be durable, providing the rider with a buffer between his boot on the exposed areas of the swingarm which can (on occasion) come into contact with each other during cornering causing wear and unwanted damage to the swingarm or boots (both expensive to fix!). Made in the UK!

Fitting instructions includedWhen fitting grip kits, it is imperative to follow the
application instructions: The surface must be thoroughly cleaned using the IPA
wipe. If surface contaminates are not removed, the adhesive will not bond
correctly. The surface that the grip will be applied to, and the grip, must be
warmed prior to application. Application temperature should be a minimum of
15ºC/59ºF. Ideal application temperatures are between 20ºC/68ºF and 40ºC/104ºF.
These temperatures make the material very flexible and enable maximum bond
strength for the adhesive. The grip must be applied by placing on the prepared
surface in the correct position, before slowly pulling back the release liner,
whilst simultaneously applying firm pressure to activate the pressure sensitive
adhesive, taking extra care at the edges. It is best to start in the middle and
work out to one end first, then apply the other end. In this way, the grip will
not stretch too much as you apply it. (Care should be taken that the motorcycle
is secure so that the application pressure will not cause the motorcycle to
fall over). If the grip is fitted in one movement, it is impossible to prevent
trapped air. By slowly pulling back the release liner and working the thumb and
forefinger into the grip, these air bubbles will be avoided. The grips must
then be left for 48 hours to allow a full adhesive bond to develop before use.
