Salvadore Dali complete set  of 6 ceramic tiles
All signed Dali "La Suite Catalane"

The set of six hand-stenciled tiles were produced by the Spanish firm of Mikana in 1964,
after the original designs made by the surrealist artist Salvador Dali in 1953-4 in Valencia.
The tiles represent three pairs of basic themes.

Life and Death, War and Peace, Music and Love
Dail has managed to give unique visual expressions to these basic themes common to all men.
Death, for example has been symbolized by the image of a dead starfish on the beach, while 
War has been represented as four aggressive arrows closing in on the centre, seen against
harsh and angular blue and white shapes. Each tile shows Dali's signature.

Also included in this purchase is 
"The Treasury of Decorative Art...Decorative Tiles throughout the ages" 
by Hans Van Lemmen

All tiles are in excellent condition with the exception of the Music tile
