We've re-tooled this base from a brand-new mould, with refined ABS and tighter quality control. The headline change comes straight from customer feedback:

Wider 1.8 mm slot — standard mounting tabs slide in more easily and sit more securely than the previous narrower slot.
3.6 mm total height with around 2.6 mm of clearance underneath for magnets.
Cleaner, more consistent mould lines and surface finish.

25mm round slotted wargaming bases, injection-moulded from ABS plastic. The slot accepts models with integrated tabs on their feet — slide the tab through, glue, and trim. Same 25mm footprint as the plain version, with a parallel slot across the top surface.

🔧 Material & Build

Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS doesn't warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top grips PVA, texture paste and basing sand without scoring first, and takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the chain from design through to quality control, so mould lines are clean and consistent.

At 3.6 mm total height with a 1.02 mm floor, these bases carry more material than many competing 25 mm bases. The extra thickness adds tabletop stability and gives around 2.6 mm of clearance underneath for magnets — comfortably fitting standard 3x2 mm or 5x1 mm disc magnets for magnetic storage and movement trays.

25 mm round is one of the most universal base sizes in tabletop wargaming. This slotted version is designed for models with integrated tabs on their feet — common on older metal and plastic miniature kits. The 1.8 mm slot accepts standard miniature tabs.

The 25 mm nominal diameter matches industry-standard sizing, correct for organised and competitive play in systems that specify a 25 mm round footprint. These fit standard 25 mm movement trays and transport solutions. If your system later moves to a different base size, OBS base converters (e.g. 25 mm → 32 mm) let you adapt without rebasing.

💡 From the Workbench

Using the slot. Slide the model's tab through, apply superglue from underneath, and trim any excess flush with the base bottom. The 1.8 mm slot takes standard tabs with a secure fit.
Don't need the slot? Fill it with green stuff, milliput or plastic card before texturing. A thin strip of plasticard cut to width sits flush for a smooth surface.
Wash before priming. A quick rinse in warm soapy water removes any mould-release residue. Dry fully before spraying.
Magnetising. Around 2.6 mm of clearance fits a 3x2 mm or 5x1 mm disc magnet. Use CA gel (not liquid) so it doesn't run, and check polarity before the glue sets if you're doing a whole unit for tray use.
