!!! Please note: If you are using a seat that has a thicker mounting flange like a Kohler quick release or slow close seat, this kit includes the longer all SS mounting screws that fit that specific seat. This kit is specific for 3/8 in diameter holes in the porcelain.
This complete kit is a much better alternative than the frustrating and expensive Kohler 84999 ANCHOR KIT with its ridiculous holder bar (some are Chinese knockoffs) and individual aluminum Kohler replacement anchors. It works effectively, is simpler to install and is permanent. It is a complete kit for tightening or replacing a toilet seat that uses blind (inaccessible) otherwise damaged or loose anchor nuts on high end designer one-piece toilets such as Kohler San Raphael, Rialto etc. also Toto, or any toilet that uses blind anchor or wellnuts 3/8 in diameter or that are inaccessible on the underside. If you are going to use it on an Eljer one piece, be aware that their holes are 9/16 in dia and will require a simple modification to fit. Please notify me if for an Eljer and I’ll send out the necessary modifications.
It can also be used to permanently replace mounting nuts that are accessible on any standard toilets with 5/16-3/8 in diameter mounting holes thus eliminating this unpleasant task ever again when replacing a seat. Finding equivalent anchors in big box stores is difficult, so I've made this kit available. I have sold several hundred with no issues. The complete kit anchors and bolts are all SS and will never rust and last the life of the toilet. The bolts are pretreated with anti-seize compound making it a faster simpler installation.
The Kohler originals are aluminum and corrode very easily. If they start to spin or the seat loosens, they are corroded and will need replacement. They will have to be pried or drilled out or even sawed off. These are exact replacement stainless steel anchors and mounting hardware.
Pictured are the two anchor nuts, and the installation bolt . The long bolt installs the anchor by using a 1/2 in open ended or box wrench to hold the collar nut and a 7/16 socket or combination wrench to tighten the bolt which then compresses and expands the anchor in place. Then install the seat with the pretreated anti-seize on the seat mounting screw threads and rubber washers under the seat mount flanges. These anchor wellnuts are Stainless Steel. I include 1 1/2 in SS bolts /washers for seat attachment
