Eytan Brandes is a master jeweler with over forty years' experience designing, selling, buying, repairing, refashioning & appraising jewelry. In January, 2019 we started the slow but satisfying process of listing Eytan's inventory on-line so that he can semi-retire and focus more on custom designs. Please check back as we're listing new items every week -- all fine jewelry in a range of styles and all priced with an emphasis on fairness and realism!
Eytan has a client who works in television. This client spends all day on soundstages barking at other crew members and getting barked at in return. She wears a headset mic all day to facilitate the barking, so her partner wanted Eytan to make her a headset pendant. The pendant you see listed here was Eytan's first submission, which turned out to be too small by a factor of exactly 2.54. In other words, Eytan made the pendant to the client's specifications but assumed the measurements were in centimeters, not inches. Cue the slide trumpet.
So that's the story of this pendant. This is not a mass production item, obviously, and this is the only one Eytan has made in this size (ahem), but we think it's a very NICE size, actually. The design is in relief but not fully 3D, so it lies flat against the skin. Eytan used oxidization to blacken the recesses and bring out the detail.
The Italian chain is a 1.3mm wheat chain with a lobster clasp. It's 19.5" long, but has an adjustment cincher doo-dad (see photo) so you can wear it as short as your neck allows.
Everything is sterling silver. The pendant weighs 4.6 grams and the chain weighs 3.4 grams. The total weight is 8 grams.
The pendant is 1-1/4" tall (including the top loop) and 7/8" wide.
Eytan signed the back of the pendant and marked it "925" for sterling silver. The chain doesn't have a maker's mark but it's stamped "ITALY" and "925" on the chain tag. The lobster's claw is also stamped "925."
Thanks for looking!
