Handmade acetate combs |
We would like to briefly introduce you to the manufacturing process of the elaborately crafted combs:
| |
First step
|
Strips are cut from the raw product, cellulose acetate sheets. These are shortened to the individual comb lengths and beveled around the outer edge.
| |
Second step
|
Each individual tine is sawn and ground with small circular saws.
| |
Third step |
Now the individual tines are further processed in a wet process - according to the type of comb - to an absolutely smooth finish.
| |
fourth step |
The combs receive a finishing touch and are processed with wood shavings in a “tumbler” for up to 5 days. All edges are sanded further and the comb gets its first shine.
| |
Fifth step |
In a final refinement process, each comb is given its material-typical, silky-shiny look and a silver or gold-colored stamp.
| |
|
Each comb goes through a manufacturing process of up to 10 days.
