Vintage, sitting is about 7 1/8". When the top is hung it goes to about 9" and adds a little length. The diameter on the bottom is about 4 1/4". The metal is lightweight metal, ferrous (magnet sticks) but the bulb is shrouded in a glass globe, original with hook to hang that springs up and down. Altogether approx  weighs about 10 oz.
