25mm square wargaming bases made from injection-moulded ABS plastic. Used for standard infantry in Kings of War and other mass-battle systems that specify a 25mm square footprint, as well as for characters and larger troops in systems that use 20mm as their standard rank-and-file size. Designed to rank up edge-to-edge in tight formations. Black, ready to prime and texture.

🔧 Material & Build

Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS does not warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top surface grips PVA, texture paste, and basing sand without needing to score or rough up the surface first. Takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the full production chain from design through to quality control. Mould lines are clean and consistent.

Dimensional accuracy is critical for square bases — they need to rank up edge-to-edge without gaps or overlap. The 24.8mm outer width (just under nominal 25mm) gives a fraction of clearance so bases sit together cleanly in movement trays without binding. The 1.32mm floor gives a solid feel underfoot. 2.2mm of underside clearance fits 3x1mm or 2x1mm disc magnets for magnetic tray use.

RANKING UP

Square bases are built to sit edge-to-edge. Keep texture materials away from the edges so bases rank up flush. A clean rim painted in a uniform colour (black, dark brown, or green) gives your ranked units a tidy, cohesive block appearance.

PREP

Wash before priming — a quick rinse in warm soapy water removes mould release residue. Batch-prime on a strip of tape for efficiency when doing a full regiment.

BONDING

Superglue (cyanoacrylate) bonds ABS well. The textured top grips PVA, basing paste, and sand without sliding. For metal models, score the base lightly with a hobby knife for a stronger bond.

MAGNETS

2.2mm underside clearance fits 3x1mm or 2x1mm disc magnets. Thinner magnets than larger bases, but sufficient for infantry-weight models. Magnetising a regiment makes movement trays effortless. CA gel, check polarity consistently across the unit.
