Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS does not warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top surface grips PVA, texture paste, and basing sand without needing to score or rough up the surface first. Takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the full production chain from design through to quality control. Mould lines are clean and consistent.

The 90×52mm oval sits at 4.1mm total height with a 1.32mm floor — sturdy enough for heavier warbeast and monster kits. 2.8mm of underside clearance fits 3×2mm or 5×2mm disc magnets. Use two or three spread along the long axis for a balanced hold in transport.

90×52mm oval is a medium-large oval base specification used in modern skirmish wargaming systems. Typically used for heavy warbeasts, large cavalry, and mid-size monsters in games that use oval bases for directional facing.

Both outer dimensions sit fractionally over the nominal — 90.5mm long axis and 52.5mm short axis — a consistent +0.5mm on each. The exact dimensions are listed in the table above so you can verify fit. The oval shape gives a clear front-facing orientation for charge arcs and line of sight.

Wash before priming — a quick rinse in warm soapy water removes mould release residue. Dry completely before spraying.

At this size you're mounting heavier warbeasts and monsters. Pin contact points with 0.8mm brass rod and reinforce with two-part epoxy — CA alone may not hold long-term for top-heavy multi-part kits. For models with awkward footing, build a small scenic element at the contact point and pin through it.

~37 cm² of playing surface — good space for scenic work. The oval shape naturally suggests movement and direction. Build terrain that flows along the long axis: scattered rocks, disturbed earth, or debris trailing behind the model. Cork or bark gives easy elevation. Keep the bevel edge clean for a tidy finish.
