🔧 Material & Build

Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS does not warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top surface grips PVA, texture paste, and basing sand without needing to score or rough up the surface first. Takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the full production chain from design through to quality control. Mould lines are clean and consistent.

At 4mm total height with a 1.3mm floor, these bases are thicker and more solid than many competing 32mm bases. The extra material adds weight and stability on the tabletop, and gives you 2.7mm of clearance underneath — comfortably fits 3x2mm disc magnets for magnetic storage and movement trays.

✅ Compatibility

32mm round is the modern standard infantry base size — the default for most current-generation miniature kits. Used for standard troops, basic characters, and infantry across the majority of contemporary tabletop wargames and skirmish systems. If you're building a new army today, this is likely the base size you need most of.

The 31.6mm actual outer diameter matches industry-standard 32mm nominal sizing. These bases fit standard 32mm movement trays and transport solutions. Upgrading older models from 25mm? OBS 25mm → 32mm base converters let you resize without rebasing.

Part of the Open Basing System (OBS)

One Ecosystem · Every Size · Every Shape

OBS is a modular basing ecosystem designed as a whole — not a random collection of bestsellers. Every size, shape, converter, and tray is planned to work together. Independent and gamer-built.

➜ Movement Trays — rank your 32mm bases in formation for mass-battle games

➜ Base Converters — 25mm → 32mm adapters for upgrading older models

➜ Flying Bases — clear stems and ball-top stems for elevated models

➜ Other Round Sizes — 25mm, 40mm, 50mm and up in the same ABS quality

New products added regularly — the OBS range is always growing.

💡 From the Workbench

PREP

Wash before priming — a quick rinse in warm soapy water removes mould release residue. Let them dry fully before spraying. This gives your primer a better bite.

BONDING

Superglue (cyanoacrylate) bonds ABS well. For metal models, score the base lightly with a hobby knife first. Two-part epoxy works too, especially for heavier pieces. The textured top grips PVA, basing paste, and sand without sliding.

MAGNETS

2.7mm underside clearance — fits 3x2mm disc magnets comfortably. Use CA gel (not liquid) so it doesn't run, and check polarity before the glue sets if you're magnetising a whole unit for tray use.
