Injection-moulded from ABS plastic — the same family of materials used in LEGO bricks. ABS does not warp, holds its shape over time, and bonds reliably with superglue (cyanoacrylate) and two-part epoxy. The textured top surface grips PVA, texture paste, and basing sand without needing to score or rough up the surface first. Takes all spray and brush-on primers cleanly.

Every mould in the OBS range is designed in-house using industry-standard CAD — these are not generic imports. We control the full production chain from design through to quality control. Mould lines are clean and consistent.

The 75×42mm oval keeps a slim 4.1mm profile with a 1.02mm floor. 3.1mm of underside clearance fits 5×2mm or 5×3mm disc magnets comfortably — one of the more generous clearances in the OBS oval range. Use two placed towards each end of the long axis for a balanced hold in transport.

75×42mm oval is a medium oval base specification used in modern skirmish wargaming systems. Typically used for warbeasts, large cavalry, and mid-weight creatures in games that use oval bases for directional facing.

The outer long axis at 74.88mm sits fractionally under the 75mm nominal. The outer short axis at 43.61mm is wider than the 42mm nominal — the exact dimensions are listed in the table above so you can verify fit before ordering. The oval shape gives a clear front-facing orientation for charge arcs and line of sight.

Wash before priming — a quick rinse in warm soapy water removes mould release residue. Dry completely before spraying.

Superglue (CA) bonds ABS cleanly for plastic and resin kits. For heavier metal warbeasts or cavalry, pin with 0.5–0.8mm brass rod through the hooves or contact points and reinforce with two-part epoxy for a permanent hold.

3.1mm underside clearance fits 5×2mm disc magnets comfortably with room to spare. Use two placed towards each end of the long axis for a balanced hold. CA gel, check polarity before it sets.

At 75×42mm there's good surface area for scenic work. The oval shape naturally suggests movement — lean into that with directional terrain like scattered debris, disturbed ground, or environmental detail that flows along the base's long axis. Keep the bevel edge clean for a tidy finish.
