This listing is for a two piece set of heavy rectangular Chinese porcelain succulents planter boxes hand carved and painted during the Qing Dynasty
- The boxes come in a set and are in excellent condition. The substantial heft of these two planters is from the meticulously hand carved open work weave design, which is double walled in porcelain with a hollow space between the walls to highlight the open weave design.
- Both are hand painted with similar but slightly differing patterns bordering the edges and the decorative trim down to their footed rests.
- Each are uniquely hand carved as one of a kind pieces. Both display a slightly rounded honeycomb open weave pattern with slight variations in hand workmanship.
- The porcelain glazing is perfectly intact and still amazingly smooth, with a wonderful glossy texture and feel along the slick weave work. Despite the age of the planters and the delicate nature of porcelain there are no visible imperfections.
- The original purchasing sticker on the bottom of the planter states the time period in which they were crafted as the Qing Dynasty (Tao Kuang) 1821-1850
