This listing is for a
Remanufactured Volkswagen/Audi 01M, 01N, 01P Valve Body, years 1999-UP.
It has been upgraded over the OEM version for increased reliability. This valve body does have a Lock-Up Type Converter.
These upgrades include: a New EPC Shift Solenoid, Updated TCC Valve, Modified Main/Boost/Solenoid Regulator Valves, Specific New Updated End Plugs, and all Solenoids have been Rebuilt or Replaced with new.
CAUTION:
We have been members of the eBay community since 2000 and have been
selling remanufactured valve bodies here since 2014 and would like to
take a moment to caution our potential customers. In recent months there
has been an influx of sellers on here and other e-commerce sites that
are selling USED valve bodies as "Remanufactured" with "Lifetime Warranties" and "Updated." To the educated buyer these claims are obviously fraudulent as the prices are too low for them to be remanufactured, let alone updated with Sonnax parts kits. We are an authorized Sonnax distributor and can assure you that you cannot purchase a remanufactured valve body for $100.00-200.00, with Sonnax kits installed. Costs are just too high to make that realistic. Granted a used part may last you 100,000 miles depending on it's previous use, or it may last you a month, you just don't know. If you are willing to spend $200.00, why not $230.00 or $330.00 for a part that is guaranteed to work? You do not have to buy from us, but please be careful and do your homework before you make a purchase you might regret. Thank you.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a $100.00 Refundable Core Charge that has been included in the
BUY IT NOW price of the valve body. Once you remove your defective valve body and
return it to us, the Core Charge will be refunded to you through
Paypal.
For detailed instructions, please read the Core Charge section below.
ALL Solenoids are retested before the valve body is shipped to you.
Quality and reliability are our passion.
This valve body comes with a 1 YEAR WARRANTY, please see the Warranty Section below for complete details.
For
complete details please see our Warranty section below.
ALL of our Quality Remanufactured Valve
Bodies are made here in the United States. This
is not a cheap Chinese Rebuilt Valve Body like you
will find at some auto parts stores. When you purchase from us, you are helping
to create and maintain American jobs. Thank you.
Below you will find
some useful information on identifying your valve body and repair/replacement
guidance.
If you need help identifying the valve body you need, we can do a VIN# lookup for your vehicle to make sure you get the right part the first time. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU ORDERING A PART THAT DOES NOT FIT YOUR VEHICLE. THE EBAY COMPATIBILITY CHART CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO BE 100% ACCURATE. Please see the Technical Information/Identification Guide
below for information on how to properly identify the valve body your
vehicle needs. If you have questions or need assistance please contact
us and we will do our best to assist you.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to message us here on eBay. We have an ASE certified transmission tech, with 25+ years experience rebuilding transmissions, available to answer your questions.
| Identification/Diagnostic Guide |
A quick look at the history of this transmission. In 1990, Volkswagen introduced the 096 transaxle in the Corrado and Passat models. In 1992 the 098 transmission was introduced in the Eurovan. In 1995 Audi introduced the 097 transmission.
All three of these
transmissions use the same valve body. In 1995
Volkswagen changed the design of these transmissions, thus the name change.
The 096 became the 01M. The 097 became the 01N. The 098 became the
01P.
Valve Body Quick ID
The
096/097/098 can be ID'ed by a kidney shaped filter hole at the bottom of the
valve body. The 01M/01N/01P can be identified by a round filter hole at the
bottom of the valve body. Please see photos below.
There have been three different 01M/N/P valve bodies over the
years. The 1995-1996 01M/N/P can be identified by the plastic end plug at the
K1 actuator valve(See Figure 1). The 1997-1998 and the 1999 and UP valve bodies
have an aluminum end plug at the K1 actuator valve(See Figure 2).

The only way to accurately identify the valve
body is to remove the upper separator plate and look for the last two digits
of the year cast into the valve body, or ID the worm track configuration(See
Figure 3.1 and
3.2).
(Figure 3.1)
(Figure 3.2)
CAUTION!
PLEASE BE AWARE: DO NOT ASSUME the year cast
into the bottom aluminum cover is the correct year! ALL 01M/N/P covers,
regardless of model year, will fit and operate correctly on any 01M/N/P Valve
Body. Our remanufactured 01M/N/P valve bodies WILL have the correct year
bottom cover.
Tiptronic vs. Non-Tiptronic
Identification
Most
Volkswagen's in the United States that use the 01M/N/P transmission are
Non-Tiptronic, however, there is a Tiptronic version of this transmission
that is used in other parts of the world. The Tiptronic Version of the
01M/N/P has different separator plates and the casting is also different.
The Tiptronic and the Non-Tiptronic Versions
are NOT interchangeable.
As an assembly, both styles look very much alike, even
side-by-side. On the opposite side of the valve body from the EV-6 and DV-7
Solenoids, there are 3 valve bores. Please review the photos below
to determine which style 01M/N/P you require.

PLEASE NOTE: We
remanufacture all years of the Non-Tiptronic Style. If you require a
Tiptronic style, we can remanufacture it for you on an R&R basis.
Please contact us for a quote.
Lastly, please see the below
important procedure for when you replace the valve body.
