How to Measure Pants
Measuring pants without trying them on can be done effectively by using a measuring tape and following these steps:
1. Lay the Pants Flat
Find a flat, clean surface (like a table or floor) and lay the pants flat. Ensure they are smoothed out to avoid wrinkles.
2. Measure the Waist
Locate the Waistband: Measure the waistband from one side to the other.
Double the Measurement: Multiply this number by 2 to get the waist size.
3. Measure the Inseam
Find the Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam (where the legs meet) down to the bottom of the leg.
This measurement gives you the inseam length.
4. Measure the Hips
Locate the Hips: Measure across the widest part of the pants, usually about 8-10 inches below the waistband. Double the Measurement: Again, multiply this by 2 for the full hip measurement.
Example of Measurements
Waist: 24 inches (48 inches total)
Inseam: 34 inches
Hips: 29 inches (58 inches total)
