The Tung-Sol 5AR4 was built tough for stable voltages. This rectifier tube will heIp smoothen out your DC voltage which will in turn give you a more stable, predictable tone. Of all the 5AR4s we have tested, this is definitely the most reliable. The 5AR4 is quite a demanding tube.

Testing and/or Matching

We test and/or match our tubes by Gm & Plate Current using a state of the art digital Maxi-Matcher tube tester. The Maxi-Matcher simulates a real circuit and tests tubes in real-world conditions. We also check our tubes for other issues like shorts on calibrated and vintage tube testers. We match our tubes +/- 5% with an overall tolerance of 10%.

While we do screen for noise and microphonics, even the best tube testers are quite bad at finding these faults. The only real test is with your ears. We guarantee that our tubes will be free of noise or microphonics but please be aware that there isn't a whole lot we can do to ensure your tube won't be. To combat this issue, we are quite liberal in accepting returns for these reasons.

Guarantee & Returns

We guarantee our tubes for 90 days upon receipt. If anything goes wrong in that time, we will replace tube once returned to us. We also pay the return shipping or will send you a prepaid shipping label so you will not be out anything. We accept returns if a tube arrives faulty or becomes faulty within the warranty period. Noise and/or microphonic issues are covered. We reserve the right to deny returns for buyer's remorse including the buyer's opinion on "tone".
