You are buying ONE (1) only of a Round Reticulated Silicon Carbide Microwave Susceptor Wireless Infrared Heater Element Molten Metal Plate. They were designed for filtering all high or low alloyed cast iron alloys. The maximum application temperature for these filters is 1600°C (3072 °F). However they can also be used as wireless susceptors for microwave induced infrared heating. The Silion Carbide Tiles will respond immediately at Room Temperature when exposed to Microwave energy. They will become extremely hot and when thermally contained in a Fibrous Alumina Refractory Box will act as a Wireless heating element for Microwave Processing of Materials at High Temperatures, for example melting metals or glasses and for sintering ceramics. You can turn your microwave oven into a kiln. They may also be used as soldering and welding plates. These tile tend to be far more fragile than Zirconia. So do Handle with Care to avoid damage.

The inherently large surface area is well suited to intensive filtration and even finely distributed slag particles are retained both on the filter surface and in the filter structure. The high filtration effectiveness combined with a reduction in turbulence often allows gating systems to be greatly simplified. 

When heated at Room Temperature, this material will couple with microwaves and therefore may also be used as “Wireless Heating Elements” in the microwave for sintering other components. Using fibrous thermal insulation this material will absorb the microwave energy and convert it to infrared radiation, i.e. red heat.
