This is a brand-new socket that is compatible with the the Merco 50026. It is used in food service equipment manufactured by Merco in models such as:

Each socket has a spring-loaded pin to mount the snap-in heating element, using the recessed ceramic cap at the end of the lamp. Each element requires two sockets.
