The hollow underside features its original period iron mounting crossbar and securement bolt. As was standard for French workshop figurines of this era, this piece was originally mounted on a separate decorative turned wooden or marble pedestal base and is being sold unmounted. Because the bottom rim was designed to be bolted down tightly rather than stand independently, the statue has a slight wobble and does not sit perfectly flat on hard surfaces. It stands securely on its own and does not tip over.
