The Peculiar Pathways Tarot by Lennox Rees Ivyly 78 Card Indie Collage Deck
The Peculiar Pathways Tarot by Lennox Rees is an independently created 78-card deck published under the artist’s ivyly studio. Its collage artwork combines vintage imagery, animals, natural elements, and unusual objects into imaginative scenes, with each card offering a glimpse into a separate symbolic world.
Developed over more than three years, the deck draws closely on Rider-Waite-Smith symbolism while incorporating Rees’ own interpretations. Familiar tarot ideas emerge through unexpected combinations of imagery, giving readers both recognizable associations and opportunities to explore new meanings.
The collage technique is central to the deck’s identity. Historical imagery is rearranged into contemporary compositions, bringing objects and creatures together in ways that suggest stories, relationships, and visual puzzles. This approach makes the cards particularly engaging for readers who enjoy studying small details and drawing connections across a spread.
The deck contains 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. Its illustrated scenes lend themselves to daily draws, journaling, and readings that combine established tarot meanings with personal responses to the artwork.
The original standard deck was produced with 350 gsm art paper, a linen finish, matte UV coating, and matte green edges, housed in a box with a magnetic flap. These details complement the artwork and add to its appeal as a collectible independent publication.
An appealing choice for collectors of collage tarot, animal imagery, and artist-created decks, especially those familiar with Rees’ Coastal Curiosities Oracle and other ivyly releases.
