vintage French
Copper Saucepans
by
Métaux Ouvrés Vesoul (Art et Cuisine)
Acknowledged as one of the top (former) makers in France. Ceased trading back in 1969. The traditional pieces made by Métaux Ouvrés Vesoul (Art et Cuisine) typically feature copper bodies, tin-lined interiors, and sturdy brass or iron handles secured with multiple rivets.
These five have iron handles.
Diameters are 12cm, 14cm, 16cm, 18cm and 20cm., (4¾ inches up to 8 inches). They`re in very good used condition, no dents, and with very good `tinning`. Total weight 4.5kgs / about 10 lbs.
The `Art et Cuisine` logo, and `Made in France` are stamped on each saucepan, not very legibly on some but they are there.
If you wish to hang them in a line for display, (as shown in the first photo), you`ll need a width of approx 110cm / 43 inches and a drop of 50cm / 20 inches.
Not suitable for induction hobs, (being copper they`re not magnetic), unless you have or acquire an induction hob converter plate to slip underneath the saucepan in use.
A nice set.
Realistic auction start, no further reserve.
