ONE DETECTOR. THREE COILS. FROM SMALL TARGETS TO DEEP LARGE OBJECTS.
The LOCSTA DEEP P7 is a lightweight Pulse Induction (PI) metal detector designed for both everyday metal detecting and searching for larger metal objects at significant depths.
Unlike a detector built around only one search coil, the LOCSTA DEEP P7 is supplied with three interchangeable PI search coils – 8 cm, 20 cm and 40 cm.
Simply select the coil according to the type and size of target you are looking for.
Each LOCSTA DEEP P7 is assembled and individually tested in Poland before shipment.
Every detector is supplied with an individual serial number, operating instructions and after-sales technical support.
Spare search coils and replacement parts are also available directly from the manufacturer.

The following results were obtained during controlled air tests and demonstrate how detection range changes depending on the search coil and target size.
1 grosz coin – 10 cm
50 euro cent coin – 18 cm
0.5 L aluminium can – 43 cm
Metal box 8 × 18 × 38 cm – 50 cm
Large target – aluminium door 2.5 × 3 m – up to 115 cm*
1 grosz coin – 13 cm
50 euro cent coin – 27 cm
0.5 L aluminium can – 62 cm
Metal box 8 × 18 × 38 cm – 75 cm
Large target – aluminium door 2.5 × 3 m – up to 230 cm*
1 grosz coin – 14 cm
50 euro cent coin – 35 cm
0.5 L aluminium can – 85 cm
Metal box 8 × 18 × 38 cm – 110 cm
Large target – aluminium door 2.5 × 3 m – up to 350 cm (3.5 m)*
The results clearly demonstrate an important characteristic of the detector: increasing the coil size significantly increases the detection capability for larger targets.
One of the main advantages of the LOCSTA DEEP P7 is the ability to change the detector configuration simply by changing the search coil.
The smallest coil is designed for small targets and precise localisation.
Its compact size makes it useful in confined areas and locations where multiple metal objects may be present close together.
Best for:
Small targets • precision • confined areas • target localisation
The 20 cm coil is the all-round option.
It provides a good balance between sensitivity to smaller targets, search area and detection depth.
Recommended as the starting coil for new users.
Best for:
General searching • mixed targets • everyday detecting
The largest coil is intended primarily for deep searching and larger buried metal objects.
Its large detection area makes it particularly useful when searching for targets at depths where conventional small search coils may no longer provide a useful response.
Best for:
Deep searching • large metal objects • maximum detection range
8 cm → PRECISION & SMALL TARGETS
20 cm → UNIVERSAL SEARCH
40 cm → DEEP SEARCH & LARGE TARGETS
Instead of being limited to one search coil, you can configure the LOCSTA DEEP P7 according to the target and searching conditions.
Understanding the length and shape of the detector response can provide useful information about the target before digging.
A small metal object located only a few centimetres below the ground may produce two short, distinct signals – one as the front edge and another as the rear edge of the coil passes over the target.
Raise the search coil slightly and repeat the sweep.
If the signals quickly disappear, the target is probably small and shallow.
An object approximately the size of a can may produce a short but clear response at considerably greater depth.
This is where a deep-search PI detector can be particularly useful.
Large and deeply located metal objects normally produce a longer, broader and very distinct response.
The width of the response can therefore help an experienced operator distinguish a large deep target from a small shallow object.
When you detect a strong, broad signal, do not rely on only one sweep direction.
Approach the suspected target from several different directions and observe where the signal becomes strongest.
This can help estimate both the position and approximate size of the target.
For more precise centering, temporarily reduce GAIN. Reducing sensitivity can narrow the response from a very strong target and make it easier to determine its approximate centre.
After locating a deep target with the 40 cm coil, you can switch to the 20 cm or 8 cm coil when appropriate for more precise localisation.
Two short signals → probably a small, shallow target
One short, clear signal → possible medium-size target
Long, broad signal → possible large, deep target
With experience, the operator learns to interpret not only the presence of a signal, but also its length, width and intensity.
Start with moderate GAIN and become familiar with the detector before working at maximum sensitivity.
Change only one control at a time. This makes it much easier to understand how each adjustment affects detector behaviour.
Keep the search coil at a constant height above the ground and move it smoothly.
When searching for large, deeply buried objects, start with the 40 cm coil and sweep slowly.
When a potential target is found, approach it again from different directions.
After switching on the detector, allow a few minutes for the electronics to warm up and stabilise before starting your search.

Detection depth and target response depend on target size, shape, orientation and metal type, as well as soil conditions, mineralisation, electromagnetic interference, search coil selection, detector settings and operator technique.
The stated detection distances are results obtained under specific test conditions and are provided as reference values. They should not be interpreted as guaranteed detection depths under all field conditions.
8 cm for precision.
20 cm for universal searching.
40 cm for deep large targets.
