These Smaller B&W Baseball Bromide cards were made in 1952.
This set is newly Catalogued as JBR 177 in the Japanese Baseball Card Catalog.
they are called 'No Uniform Number' cards because they are very similar
to the JBR 176 cards that have uniform numbers in caption.
These are fairly Rare overall.
They are ranked as R4, meaning est. under 10 of ea. card known.
Yoshio Hamada 浜田
Hamada played 2nd Base from 1948 to 1958, all with the Flyers.
He had a .245 career average with 20 HRs.
Hiroshi Oshita 大下 弘
is in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame
Ohshita/Oshita was a Professional player from 1945-1959
early Home Run King
Taiwan born Ohshita began his Pro career after World War II.
Known for his trademark blue bat, he hit a record 20 home runs in a season
and was home run king and
leading hitter three times for the Toei Flyers.
Oshita was also a heavy
hitter with the Nishitetsu Lions of the Pacific League during the 1950s.
